The amp puts out about 25 watts this is more that enough for my building. The tuner sound was bassie and sounded just ok.
I wanted something that would stand up to the extremes because this building is not heated or cooled. The receiver came with all cables need to hook up a CD player or an mp3 player.
I recently purchased this receiver for use in a storage/work building. After hooking up the antenna (included with system) it scanned and picked up numerous station.
The receiver only took a few minutes to hook up. The fm tuner section of the receiver works fine.
I attached a CD player and a mp3 player to the system and they sounded very good. Overall a good receiver for such a cheap price.
I use this product in my gazebo and have mounted 6.5 feet high. Unfortunately the display is not visible from that angle. Other than that it works fine.
You are supposed to splice your own speaker wires to those and then plug the pin into the amplifier. The sound is very good, FM reception could be better, the kids love the iPod connector and the sound quality from that is great. I bought the TIC AMP 10 to use by the pool. The problem is the supplied wires are such a thin gauge that it was almost impossible to get a good connection -- the static was terrible. I had been concerned that such a small unit wouldn't be able to produce enough volume but, according to my neighbors, that is not a problem at all. There is one thing I should warn you about, it almost caused me to return the product: The unit ships with speaker connectors -- it is basically a pin with two wires coming out of it. Before returning the unit, I took a trip to Radio Shack and, for less than $10, I was able to buy speaker pins that allowed me to use my own speaker wire (be sure to bring one of the supplied speaker pins with you to Radio Shack -- I discovered the hard way that there are several different sizes). Now everything works perfectly and I'm glad I didn't return the AMP10.
Lots of static no matter what. Which I think it probably can. I noticed if I put a song on with a lot of bass the speakers would drop in volume and stay there even though I hadn't touched the volume, which basically has to be set on max. Wow this only got better. I had correctly connected the FM antenna and only when I held to at an akward position that could not be permanent would it barely get a station. This posed a problem for the install. The unit used DC power so you need an AC to DC converter (which it does come with) but that block is not allowed to get wet.
I ended up routing it through a window which is not what I wanted to do in the first place. So that already was not good.Next I hooked up the TIC out door speakers (I already forget the model number but the black ones that stick into the ground and have a hemisphere looking top) to the receiver and they sounded ok at first. I bought this because it was outdoor and could withstand the elements. All of this was from the provided 3.5mm headphone jack to 3.5mm headphone jack cable that came with the unit hooked up to my iPhone. After just accepting that that might happen I tried turning on the FM radio. not really, it could barely pick up a station. I guess it still will be but after father's day I will be returning the unit and purchasing just an amplifier to hide outside.this unit has 4 outputs but could barely push 2 low wattage speakers. Also I didn't realize but the rear speaker connections are actually rca connections. This was going to be a surprise gift for my Dad for this father's day.
except the power block. I tried making my own antenna from a higher gauge wire and making it longer. I then just put on some rock with less bass and they sounded better. After a few songs though the same thing happened and wouldn't get louder until I turned the unit off then on again. This was getting very annoying. It helped a bit but still sounded awful. The unit comes with 4 rca connectors that have been clipped and stripped at the ends to attach other speaker wire to if you are running speakers that are farther away than like 3 feet. The one good thing about the unit is it came with lots of connections.
Delivered in a timely manner. Performs very well. I've been using this little stereo outside around my deck and pool for about a month with no problems. It is a good buy.
